  • How long does it take for your new site to get over 1000 visitors/day?

I’ll tell you about the sites I make. I am fan of the affiliate sites. When I have to build an online shop I use affiliate links and big lists of products instead of putting Adsense, Chitika, Kontera all over the pages. I put quantity before quality and as far as I know other affiliates do the same. These many products make thousands of different pages full of keywords and descriptions made for the current product. So if one searches for that product I sometimes go above the advertiser that in fact sells it. The catch here is there are so many products and they have specific names so people will not find my site with keywords that do not mention my products directly. Also the descriptions I use for the big product sites are copying the descriptions of the products of the original advertiser so there is a duplicate content issue here too.
And then it’s SEO time! Search for directories to submit my new site. Write good original articles on my site or others and use social bookmarking sites to link to these articles so a search engine and people will find me from these types of links. Another thing I am doing is spend some money advertising with Adwords and MS adCenter (I thing to start advertising with Yahoo search marketing too sometime soon). That makes people see my new site and hopefully link to the different products. That was for the link campaign. The optimization on-site is done by searching for the good keywords that make traffic and put them in titles, descriptions etc. After optimizing the site I just sit down and wait for people to start promote me by linking to me and mentioning my site. The search engines find that and slowly put me up and above the others in the SERPs. But I will tell you I am a bit lazy and impatient so I leave the site that way and start another one or just go watch movies and have a coffee with my friends. This is not right but since I have a full time job I don’t care much. The real thing is to make more and more original content on your site and have more and more natural links to you, preferably to different pages in the site as well as the home page. The way I work makes my new sites to appear so low in the SERPs so I have to wait a couple of months before I get real good results. But I’ll tell you Google likes new sites and give more traffic in the first month and if you are lucky enough your site will be in heaven all by itself. So the answer to my question by me is you will have to spend a couple of months or even a whole year for your new site to get over 1000 (unique)visitors/day. Tell me if I’m wrong and if something have to be changed in my way of promoting a site.
