Blog about SEO for Webmasters

It all started with the .com. One of the oldest and wide used TLDs. So if you as a webmaster search for available domain in the .com trend you will be very disappointed: all of the good and even not so good .coms are taken and half of them are parked and waiting somebody to pay a huge amount of dollars to take it. In fact users are used to the .com domains and browsers suggest first .com then a couple of other TLDs when you type a domain without TLD in the address bar. My suggestion is if you can, buy a .com domain. Check if your desired domain is available. If not think or search for synonyms of that name and check them again. If you prefer the name you selected the first time then try the other TLDs. But first check if there is a site on the your-word.com and if it is in the same trend as yours because if you buy a .net domain people will forget the and of it and sometimes go directly to the .com one. If one search for the domain name without the TLD at the end the search engines may decide to show the .com one as a first result and you’ll be lost again. I have some domains ending with .net and .info. I like the .net and bought the .infos because they were cheaper then. But most of the domains I own are ending with .com. Like this one ![]()
Again, buy .com if you can. Then think about .net and do not think about other TLDs except you’re going to create an .org .info or .edu specific sites.
